Domus Galilaeae

The Domus Galilaeae is a training, studying and preying centre built in Israel on the Beatitudes Mountain.

The project (total surface 33,000 sqm of which 12,000 sqm for the building only) has been carried on by an international team of architects, who developed an idea of the English painter Kiko Argüello.

Started up on January 1999, the Domus Galilaeae is built on three levels or terraces slowing down towards the Tiberiade lake and it includes a fully equipped meeting centre, a computerized library, the Sanctuary of the Holy Word, a church for up to 300 people, besides all the other services such as canteen, meeting rooms, waiting rooms, hall, kitchen and 100 double rooms. The hall and the Sanctuary have been inaugurated by Pope Woytila on March 24 th, 2000.

Then, the project was completed and Intec supplied 7,000 sqm of Grintec®, the raised flooring system for outdoor, with top finishes porcelain stoneware (30x30 cm size) and Serena stone (30x30 and 60x60 cm sizes), the same type of stone chosen for the external covering of the building since it matches with the environment.

The project: the first step in the new City project, the Moscova bridge is 213 metres long and on two levels, the first being 14 metres wide, completely covered and containing a shopping precinct; the second is partially covered, 11 metres wide, with panoramic terraces. On the West bank the bridge leads into a building whose hall is linked to the metro station, while the upper floors will house restaurants and cafés. An office building will stand on the other side.

The work has a total useful surface of 13,500 sq m. 3,500 sq m of Monointec® have been installed in the pedestrian and shopping areas because of its excellent impermeability and stability.
